Manufactured Products

Capricorn's manufactured product lines include:

Polyclonal antibodies for a line of serum proteins for nephelometric and tubidimetric uses
Human serum based controls and reference calibrators
Selected antigens and polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies for tumor markers, cardiac markers and hormones for EIA, FIA, CLIA, RIA, latex and membrane applications

Distributed Products

As a distributor, Capricorn has exclusive agreements with several test kit manufacturers for their diagnostic raw materials. These distributed product lines include:

A Client-Centric Commitment to Service

Capricorn is primarily focused on long-term consultative/co-operative relationships with test kit manufacturers in order to characterize and produce components and reagents for their tests through the design review process. This frequently involves the collaborative development of 'pre-qualified reagents', other test kit components and contract manufacturing.

This process builds a strong concept of 'service' for our clients, which is directly keyed to their initiatives, products and needs. Capricorn's value added centers on its ability to get things done reliably, rapidly solve problems, and otherwise be an implementation arm for its customers. Being in this role requires Capricorn to implement manufacturing controls and procedures that optimize production flexibility and speed in order to support our customer's projects successfully.

Capricorn Products 'Value Added'

One of Capricorn's strength's is its ability to work closely in all phases of our customer's products from assay development through to final manufacturing and Quality Control. We understand the idiosyncrasies of various test methods and how to best apply our technical expertise to modify our products to suit the intended test method. It is well understood that different raw materials have varying characteristics. Historically, test kit manufacturers search the market for products that are the most optimal performers for a specific application.

In contrast, if the target performance is well defined up front, it mitigates the future risk of variations in assay performance. In addition, we boast an extremely high lot-to-lot production consistency for our clients large and small all over the world. To that end, we have a very high customer retention rate, as not only do we target high performance up front, we also maintain our products to continue that performance over the life of the diagnostic product.

Our capacity is significant. Customized production lots of monospecific antisera for nephelometry and turbidimetry are available up to 100 liters. Affinity-purified antibodies, purified monoclonal antibodies, enzyme and fluorescent dye conjugated antibodies, and purified fragments of antibodies are available in multiple gram lots. Reserve quantities of material are manufactured and stored under optimal conditions to assist our clients with managing inventory, while optimizing lab production, therefore keeping our clients costs lower.
